B&W Marble Tutorial

Here is a quick step by step tutorial demonstrating a 3 dimensional marbled look. By using this technique with gel, your finished nail will resemble a black and white marble, with the colors swirling through the crystal clear gel in different layers creating a smoky effect. You are actually swirling the color into your gel as you build the nail, the effect is amazing!

I used Options Black Gel Art and Options White Gel Art for this tutorial, but any color combination can be used to create new designs. Give it a try!

1. Prep the nails by removing shine and dead tissue, cleanse with Nail Prep and apply Affixit primer. Place forms and pinch forming a cone shape to the desired length.

2. Apply a thin layer of Bonding gel. Cure 2 minutes

3. Place a large bead of a Builder gel on the form. Using a marbling tool dip in Options Black Gel Art and drag through the gel.

 4. Marble in multiple directions re-dip between strokes to add more color. This will give it a  dimensional effect and it will spread out the gel in the process. Cure 2 minutes.

5. Place another bead of Builder in the same spot and repeat steps 3 & 4 using Options White Gel Art. Cure 2 minutes.

 6. Apply a few stripes of Options Aurora Silver Sparkles. Cure 2 minutes.

7. Cap the design with Natural Clear gel filing in any dips. Cure 2 minutes. Apply a second layer if needed.

8. Remove inhibition layer with Gel Cleaner and file to shape.

9. Remove dust and apply Top Gloss Clear Bright. Cure 2 minutes.

10. Cleanse to remove tacky layer and apply Cuticle Oil.
