Akzentz Classic Gels Vs Options Gels......
Here are full descriptions of both lines of Akzentz gel. The Tradition/Classic gel is a buff off gel that is non-porous and must be filed off. It is very strong and durable, perfect for sculpting and enhancements.
The Options line is our soak off gel. It is much more flexible, you have the "option" of soaking it off or filing off the gel, and it comes in over 51 colors. It is perfect for use on the natural nails as a gel polish because it can be applied very thin and it will flex with the nail rather than crack. It is also perfect for toenails since it will flex when wearing closed toed shoes without causing trauma to the nail. You can also use any of the colors over any enhancement , acrylic, gel etc as a permanent nail polish without any drying time and no chipping, dulling etc.
UV Gel System Product Description
Traditional/Classic FILE OFF GELS
Trilite Clear Gel - Trilite offers bonding, strength & gloss in ONE gel. Thin viscosity self levels quickly. For best results, apply in thin coats and freeze cure (5 seconds) after each nail to prevent gel from running into the cuticles. May be used with bonder for added adhesion, though not required. Cure 3 minutes
Trilite Pink Gel - Beautiful translucent pink color. Trilite offers bonding, strength & gloss in ONE gel. Thin viscosity self levels quickly. For best results, apply in thin coats and freeze cure (5 seconds) after each nail to prevent gel from running into the cuticles. May be used with bonder for added adhesion, though not required. Cure 3 minutes.
Bonding Gel – 15g/.55oz only - The first step in a 3-step system. Apply this gel thinly to the natural nail after you have taken all the shine off of the nail, cleansed with nail prep and applied your choice of primer. Cure 2 minutes.
Builder French White - Strong sculpting white gel. It’s very strong and bright white. It leaves a nice sharp smile line that is perfect for new sets, and re balances (backfills). When sculpting new nails, be sure not to apply too thick or gel may not cure completely through. Cure 2 minutes. Tip: Try applying in two layers, allowing the first layer to be semi-transparent. Perfect the smile line on the second thin layer and you will have perfectly strong, completely cured white gel extensions!
Builder Gel - Builder can be used as step two of a 3-step system. It has a thicker viscosity and stays where you put it allowing great sculpting ability and strength. There are less photo-initiators in this gel allowing for a coolest curing process. Great for sensitive clients. Requires bonding gel and top gloss. Cure 2 minutes.
Modeling - Modeling may be used as step two of a 3-step system. It has a medium viscosity which makes it easy to work it. It slightly self levels minimizing finish filing, but stays where you put it allowing great sculpting ability. With less photo-initiators, it cures cooler than Natural and Trilite. Requires bonding gel and top gloss. Cure 2 minutes.
Natural Clear - Completely crystal clear! Perfect consistency for fills. Self-leveling, but doesn't't run into cuticles. Can be used for natural nail overlays, re balances, sculpting and overlaid on tips. Very versatile with shine built in. If you get Natural on smooth, it does not require filing and top gloss. 2 step system requires Bonder. Also perfect for mixing with Glitter! Cure 2 minutes.
Natural Translucent Pink - Beautiful translucent pink. Perfect consistency for fills. Self-leveling, but doesn't run into cuticles. Can be used for natural nail overlays, re balances, sculpting and overlaid on tips. Very versatile with shine built in. If you get Natural on smooth, it does not require filing and top gloss. Requires Bonder. Cure 2 minutes.
Natural Coverage Pink COOL - This gel has the same viscosity as the Natural Pink but provides a semi opaque look. Its great for hiding flaws from file damage, bruises and discolorations on the nail bed. This cool pink has more of a "bubble-gum pink" hue. Cure 2 minutes. Tip: For clients who are nail biters or who have short nail beds but still want to wear long French nails, use coverage to "hide" that fact and make their nail bed look longer than it really is. When you sculpt, place the builder or French white past the natural nail's smile line. Fill the nail bed in with Coverage pink to complete the look.
Natural Coverage Pink WARM –With the same properties as warm pink, this warm pink has more of a "peachy" hue. Cure 2 minutes.
French White – 15g/.55oz only - A creamy white gel that is slightly transparent to give clients that more natural look while remaining a soft white. Can be used to sculpt French nails and self levels with a light touch allowing easy application. Cure 2 minutes. Tip: When sculpting a tip to look like a natural nail, use one thin coat. Smile lines blend great with Natural Pink.
Ultra White - 15g/.55oz only - Perfect for the "Forever French" look. It’s ultra bright and very smooth to apply. Self levels to create that perfectly smooth look. Perfect for doing bright white tips on re balances/backfills. Cure 2 minutes. Tip: This gel is packed full of titanium dioxide - the mineral that makes gels white. Because it is a mineral, its VERY hard. Be sure if you are sculpting, to use builder white or French white as your first coat to give the tip flexibility and help eliminate chipping.
Paint On White Ultra - Paints on like nail enamel, to eliminate the backfill process. After you have completed sculpting or re balancing your nail, file and shape the nail, then "paint on" this BRIGHT white. Cure and finish with Top Gloss, Natural or Trilite for your high shine. WOW, thats a lot of gels right?? I know its confusing at first, and I hear many people say they'd rather have a 1 step system because it's "easier". But having such a wide range of gels allows you to customize your application for your client and the service you're providing. There are times when a thicker gel is perfect for building the apex on all 5 nails without running and worrying about freeze curing or heat spike, then other times you'll find a self leveling thin gel like Trilite perfect for filling in dips without having to finish file.
My suggestion is to take a class so that you have a full understanding of the products and how you can utilize the features in each gel. You have to put a little time and energy into studying and practicing though. Once you study and learn each gels description, it will all make sense and you will have the ability to create beautiful, long lasting nails that will keep your customers coming back for more. Sometimes the easy way isn't always the best way
5 Of The Most Important Things To Remember When Working With Gels
1. Never use near direct or indirect sunlight. If you work near a window be sure to have a UV film applied to the windows. Even an optically clear film can reduce UV Rays by 99% without interrupting your view. Never work with gels outdoors, and be sure to store all gels and brushes in a solid colored container when traveling outdoors. Any exposure to UV rays will begin the curing process and possibly ruin brushes, products, tools etc.
2. Use the "line of light" to see if your application is smooth (the light reflection will be a straight line) or if you have dips (the light reflection will waiver). This will help to get your application perfect and possibly eliminate finish filing. Use a good light source over your work area to insure good visualization of the application process. Never use Halogen lights, they emit UV rays and may start the curing process. Low heat/low energy Daylight lamps work best for natural light that is more relaxing to the eyes because it simulates the light outdoors.
3. To avoid contamination, always put the lids on the containers when finished with the products. Use only lint-free wipes and towels. When working with gels, lint is the enemy! If you notice a piece of lint, remove it. If you leave it in the gel you will see it because of the clarity of the product.
4. If gel gets on the cuticle during product application be sure to wipe off before curing under the UV light. I usually take a quick glance at all of the 5 nails before instructing the client to go into the light. This way you can check for gel that has pooled or run into the cuticle, which will cause lifting.
5. When applying layers of gel, always apply over a surface that is completely roughed up (etched) or on the inhibition layer (sticky residue). As a rule of thumb, shine doesn't stick to shine. Once you've removed the inhibition layer, you must be sure to remove the shine from the entire nail if you need to add more gel.
